Thanks a latte!
Thanks for keeping me on Target!
Thanks for being an “amazon” A+ teacher!
Thanks for a Poppin” school year!
To use, just print and attach gift card to the front of the card.
If you like, you can even go a step further and attach the printed holder to a slightly larger decorative piece of scrap booking or construction paper. As you can see, I’ve also embellished further with some kitchen twine around a couple of my gift cards.
So cute! Would love to see more of these type of printables. Graduation invites, thank you’s. Thanks for sharing.
I agree!!
This is adorable!! I love it
Great idea! Any thoughts on the amount to give a teacher for a gift card at the end of the school year?
I do $10 for home room teachers (we have a home room and they travel to other rooms for sci, engl, hx, etc) , and if my kids had a favorite other teacher they can have a $10 GC to give him/her too. I do it to a local teacher supply store.
This is so personal and up to your budget, but at our school the home room parent takes up a collection from the parents if they want to contribute so it’s a larger amount π
Former 2nd grade teacher here…now staying home with our baby. Any amount is appreciated! Even a nice note from your child and you is so great! When I left teaching last year, I taught at a very affluent school and received incredibly generous gifts at times, but I also appreciated the $5 gift cards or heart felt notes from families who were struggling.
Thanks for your comment. I always wondered if the $10 card was appreciated just as much as the larger amounts. We have 4 boys so we’re not able to give a huge amount to each teacher. We do send them emails throughout the year thanking them for teaching and loving on our children and we’ve also let the principal know how awesome some of the teachers are. Enjoy being home with your little one.
Heck, yes! A $10 Startbucks card covers two drinks and that is a HUGE deal. π
Hi Kim—I’m a teacher and I think a $10 gift card is awesome! I also think it is great that you send emails throughout the year and also let the principal know. I’m sure the teachers greatly appreciated it—I know I would:)
Great idea!
Thank you! So cute!
That’s so awesome! I love the idea of giving teachers gift cards, especially to places they can buy classroom supplies and gadgets. My husband is an educator, and just the other day when I asked him what he wanted for teacher appreciation week, he said, “anything but mugs.” He would love receive something like this!
Totally agree! Both my parents were teachers and all I can remember from my childhood are “#1 teacher” mugs, pots, and even Christmas ornaments! Of course, those were the days before gift cards really existed.
Awesome! ~~~ Teachers need to be appreciated.
Thanks for sharing.
My mom taught school for 40 years and you would not believe the number of apple-themed gifts she got! You can only use so many mugs, ornaments, etc. that say “#1 teacher!”. What always cracked me up is when she would get things with the student’s handprints on them, i.e. sweatshirts, stepping stones, aprons,. I mean, she loved her kids, but really? π She made me promise when I had children that I would give very generous gift cards to all my girls’ teachers! π
Giving my son’s teacher a Starbucks or Target gift card. What amount is considered “generous”?
We give $25 each, but I know my mom would have considered anything generous. She never complained about one gift, but the gift cards really made her day. I think even a $5 Starbucks cards is generous and loved.
As I teacher, I will say that $5 (because of the thoughtfulness) is considered WONDERFUL! π
π
Also a teacher and $5 to Sonic goes super far when you take advantage of Happy Hour- its the best gift ever!
Totally agree! I said that up above. I am a former 2nd grade teacher now SAHM (probably will return to teaching some day).
Lol. I just wrote almost exactly what you said. My parents were both teachers. I refuse to get any teachers anything that say “#1 teacher” on it.
Fantastic! Any printables for the world’s best bus driver?
For bus driver, you can just do “thanks a latte for getting me to and from school safely every day.”
While searching for teacher appreciation gift ideas, I found these two adorable Bus Driver appreciation gifts here:

Anisha I just got photo card customized graduation invites at photoaffections dot com. I paid $22 for 25 of them. This was the best deal I found after checking several sites. It was 40% off and free shipping.

Yes! Great idea π
Thanks a lot for that tip.. Cause that is what I am doing for my daughters teacher. I got $5 Smoothie King gift cards for all 8 of my son’s teachers, since he is in middle school and changes classes on the hour.
these are so cute!
OMG this is great! A mom planned a week of gifts for one of the teachers for the whole class to participate. Monday they need to write her an appreciation letter, Tuesday we will send office supplies, Wednesday flowers, Thursday books and Friday gift cards. I will send her a target gift card and this will be perfect!!! Thanks
Wow how wonderful!
So cute!!
Hi Lina~
These are very awesome! You are always so talented! I plan on using the Target one for my daughter’s kindergarten teacher. Thanks for all you do for Hip2Save readers, you are very much appreciated! π
Thanks Karie!! π So sweet of you!
Please everyone give something to your child’s teacher. Even if it’s only a $5 gc. They are with our children for most of the day and they have a huge impact on them and what they learn and how they see the world. Appreciate them. I’ve been a HR and it always puzzles me when parents don’t help or give. Even a homemade gift. They are teaching OUR kids.
I agree Lal. This is my daughter’s first year in school so I didn’t know the date of teacher appreciation. I’m so glad I saw this post. I appreciate anyone who cares for my kids, especially teachers! I plan to have my daughter make each of her teachers a card and stick a gift card inside.
Even a note or card from your child is meaningful or a flower from the garden. We know same families are struggling financially, so any small gesture of kindness was appreciated!
We usually give the gift cards at Christmas too. The teachers really appreciate the thought. We’ve done michaels or kohls in the past. Either way I know its something they can use.
Does anyone think it would be bad not to give a teacher anything this year? I am relatively certain that my child’s teacher lied to me (for the sake of her own convenience). My child will be going to a different school because of this (and because I have lost trust in the school). Is it a major faux pas to “forget” this day?
A gift is a show of appreciation. Don’t feel obligated to give in any way. If you are unhappy with that teacher, then I wouldn’t send anything in for them.
I would say you are off the hook in your situation. That said, no one should ever feel obligated to give teacher gifts. Even though teachers appreciate them, they don’t expect to really get anything. Besides not all parents are in a position to give gifts at all for Christmas or teacher appreciation week because of their budgets. Plus, a lot of teachers just put their homemade treats in teacher lounge and their lotions/soaps in staff bathrooms. Sorry to burst anyone’s bubble, but I sub in several schools and this is what I see. A simple thank you note or volunteering in classroom is much more memorable than a bought or homemade gift.
Gift giving for teachers has turned into a competition with parents. When did this become the norm?!?!? Plus, how many crayon initial pictures can one teacher receive each year from Pinterest-happy parents? LOL
Forgot to add that a basket of quality school supplies is always welcome by any teacher in any grade.
You are under no obligation at all. If your daughter or you feel uncomfortable, you could always just do a drawing or a card from your daughter.
Thank you guys! Good to alleviate some guilt…there was a school-only teacher appreciation day back in January and I did get her something then, so I won’t feel so bad ignoring the national day π
I love this! I already started collecting extra school supplies and colorful markers/pens to add to the basket I’m making. My daughter’s teacher loves drawing cute faces on the kids finished work and always writes encouraging notes on their tests.
Our pens and markers are usually dried up this time of year, too!
As a former high school public teacher any gift was appreciated. I only received 3 gifts, a Hershey Kiss candy dish, honey (my students knew I loved honey) and a double pack of Clorox wipes. The Clorox wipes were my favorite because I had to buy them myself and I used them once a week to wipe down all the tables and around the computers because high school kids are quite messy π Markers, stickers, dry erasers, anything for the classroom can be a gift and you can use coupons.
we are always on an extreamly tight budget, it never occured to me to give a teacher a gift card much less for anything more than $5…am i really that cheap? i understand they do a lot for my kids and i am always willing to send in supplies and snacks (i usually use coupons to get) but it seems like so much money when you have multiple kids….that being said, i guess i should start saving up my “free” gift cards from sales and pampers points and things…i was just going to say that for valentines day instead of giving the teacher a regular card we folded a piece of paper in half and drew a tea cup and saucer, cut it out and glued it together so that the cup was more of a pocket and we stuck a twinings tea bag sample i had gotten for free inside with a tag that said you’re a tea-rrific tea-cher…is something like this too cheap for teacher appriciation or end of school? i was thinking maybe just a small candle, but i know every woman has so many of them….sorry for rambling
I like the tea idea, cute!
Don’t give a candle, the tea idea is awesome though! Or a pack of pens or something you got for free π But no, I don’t think you’re cheap π Do what you feel comfy with! We just do $10 because my kids do $5 from their money and I match it. We have 8 kids, so I feel ya! It’s the thought that counts. If they don’t like tea they can toss the packet in the break room and every teacher can use pens!
Sorry so late to respond, bad weather here but the photoaffections code is SAVE40. 40% off and free shipping.
I’ve been teaching for 16 years, and I rarely get gifts for teacher appreciation week. Any gift would be totally appreciated. At this time of year, the kids are always needing pencils and my dry erase markers are all running out of ink, so school supplies are always welcome. I would love any type of gift card for any amount. I think you can’t go wrong if you show the teacher that he/she is appreciated.
I just printed out the latte one and the giftcard didn’t fit in the space so I copied and pasted the image and made it a tad bigger-
BIG Thanks Collin!! I’m going to look like the best parent ever! lol
This is very cool. I would love to see one for bus drivers for the end of the year. Lord knows they deal with a lot of crap too! π
You can use the latte one since it’s a little more general. Thanks!!
Here’s a bus driver idea. Hope it helps. π

I would like to give my son’s teacher a gift card to Hobby Lobby or Joann Fabrics. I was wondering what idea you have as far as working goes that I could put on a printable tag? π
I would love the AMazon one for my class parent. Is there anyway to edit the file for that?
Thanks for sharing this! From a non-creative Mom!
Aw sure! Enjoy π
LOVE!!!!!!! Thank you for sharing. Printing was easy and now my kids teacher will have a fun AND cute gift!
Sure! Thanks for stopping by!
Hi Lina,
I’m hoping you can help me. Is there any way in making the thanks for being an amazon A+ teacher a bit bigger? I have a gift card in an apple shaped card and its a bit too big. I love this design and would love to use it. Please let me know. I’ll need it for this Thursday so I’m not even sure if this is possible.
Hi there – I donβt have the bandwidth to do specific requests unfortunately- but thanks for your feedback on the free Printable π
